211 San Diego - This website and 24-hour free phone service (dial 211) connects people with community, health, and disaster services in San Diego County. Services may be searched by agency name, location, or service provided. Includes information for more than 5,000 health and human service programs provided by more than 2,000 community agencies.
Aging and Independence Services - San Diego County provides services to older adults, people with disabilities and their family members, to help keep clients safely in their homes, promote healthy and vital living, and publicize positive contributions made by older adults and persons with disabilities. Services include adult protective services, caregiver support, health promotions, mental health, nutrition services, and others.
Elder Law and Advocacy - Provides civil legal services in San Diego and Imperial Counties. Services include Senior Legal Services, Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy (HICAP), Caregiver Legal Support, Nursing Home Rights Enforcement, Senior LGBT Services, Trust Department, and Senior Shield Scam Screen. The majority of services are free to qualifying seniors.
San Diego Eldercare Directory - Local source for senior interests. Includes information on senior housing, caregiving, healthcare, behavioral health, wellness, equipment & services, end-of-life issues, in-home solutions, insurance, and more. Sponsored by the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Sharp Healthcare San Diego Senior Care - Sharp offers senior care programs and services, including behavioral health, senior health centers, Senior Resource Centers, and volunteer opportunities. Website includes information on upcoming classes and programs as well as several podcasts.
AARP (formerly American Association of Retired Persons) - Information for persons over the age of 50, including community service, health, legislation affecting seniors, money & work, retirement issues, Medicare, and how to avoid fraud and scams. Información en Español.
Abledata - A federally-funded project whose primary mission is to provide information on assistive technology and rehabilitation equipment. Products are listed by their intended function, including aids for daily living, low vision, hard of hearing, personal care, therapeutic aids, wheeled mobility, and more.
The AGS Foundation for Health in Aging - A website of the American Geriatrics Society that aims to educate older adults and their families/caregivers about health promotion and disease prevention, how to live with chronic illnesses or disabilities, and how to access medical care, rehabilitative, and support services.

Center for Healthy Aging - Provides information and recommendations on 10 keys to healthy aging. Information from the Centers for Disease Control's Prevention Research Center at the University of Pittsburgh's Center for Aging and Population Health.
Exercise and Physical Activity for Older Adults - The National Institutes of Health NIH SeniorHealth website lists the benefits of exercise, how to get started, exercise to try, how to stay active, and videos to assist in exercising properly.
Medicare - The official U.S. Government site for Medicare provides comprehensive information including Medicare basics, health and drug plans, long-term care, and search tools for doctors, hospitals, supplies, and nursing homes under the Resource Locator. NIHSeniorHealth - This National Institutes of Health website features health and wellness information for older adults. Includes a section of videos on approximately 40 topics. Accessibility features for the sight impaired include easily-changed text sizes and text read-aloud features.

Caring Connections - A program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, Caring Connections provides free resources and information to help people make decisions about end-of-life care and services. Free state-specific advance health care directive for California here. Also offers a helpline at 1-800-658-8898 and a multilingual line at 1-877-658-8896.
Consumer's Toolkit for Health Care Advance Planning - The American Bar Association provides this free toolkit to help you in the process of deciding on your values, priorities, and what is important to you in the face of serious illness.
Five Wishes Advance Directive - Aging with Dignity is a national non-profit organization with a mission to affirm and safeguard the human dignity of individuals as they age and to promote better care for those near the end of life. Advance Care Directive available online or in print for a small fee.
